Account Director

The role

We’re looking for an Account Director to join Anthem’s senior leadership team. This is a position for someone who sees beyond account management, who builds client partnerships that last, takes genuine ownership of our most important relationships, and helps set the direction of the agency alongside our Executive Directors.

What You'll Be Doing

Client Relationship & Project Management

  • Be the trusted, go-to contact for key clients – nurturing relationships built on transparency, reliability, and shared ambition.
  • Act as a strategic advisor, offering tailored counsel and proactive problem-solving that consistently exceeds expectations.
  • Maintain open, regular communication with clients to ensure outstanding service delivery at every touchpoint.

Campaign Development & Execution

  • Lead and oversee client campaigns end-to-end, integrating strategy, creative, production, content, and broader agency services to deliver against agreed objectives.
  • Ensure campaigns are aligned with client goals, budgets, and timelines – with no detail left to chance.
  • Collaborate across departments to align on strategy, objectives, and seamless delivery.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide clients with actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Financial Management

  • Own campaign budgets and the financial performance of your accounts, with a focus on meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Partner with the Finance team to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking.
  • Deliver clear, timely budget reporting to clients.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire your account team – setting the standard for client engagement and campaign delivery.
  • Oversee project management, campaign planning, and day-to-day delivery across your portfolio.
  • Champion collaborative working relationships across all departments and actively support team training and development.
  • Take ownership of special projects and agency initiatives as assigned.

Business Development

  • Play an active role in new business pitches, proposals, and presentations to win new clients and expand existing partnerships.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Leverage your client relationships to introduce and secure additional Anthem services.

Industry Positioning

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and industry stakeholders to position Anthem as a market-leading partner.
  • Represent the agency at industry events, launches, and networking opportunities.
  • Stay across market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform strategic planning.

About You

  • 5+ years in a senior marketing role, ideally servicing theatrical or related live entertainment industries, agency experience highly regarded

  • An advanced understanding of marketing principles and how to apply them across integrated campaigns
  • The confidence to set a high bar and the ability to inspire clients and colleagues alike to reach it
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing high-performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of the arts and entertainment industry landscape, with existing industry relationships an advantage
  • Deep understanding of cross-platform advertising, including digital, social, and paid media strategy
  • A track record of growing and sustaining senior client relationships built on trust, results and creative ambition
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving under pressure
  • Calm and decisive when things get complex, bringing clarity and momentum to the team around you
  • A genuine desire to grow Anthem’s profile and reputation in the industryExceptional attention to detail and outstanding verbal and written communication skills
